TAP2
TAP2
A gene on chromosome 6p21.3 that encodes a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, which plays a role in multidrug resistance and antigen presentation. TAP2 forms a heterodimer with ABCB2 in order to transport peptides from the cytoplasm to the endoplasmic reticulum.Molecular pathology
TAP2 mutations have been tentatively linked to ankylosing spondylitis, type-1 diabetes and coeliac disease.
