SOCS7 is involved in insulin signalling and glucose homeostasis through insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) ubiquitination, followed by proteasomal degradation. It also inhibits prolactin, growth hormone and leptin signalling by preventing STAT3 and STAT5 activation, sequestering them in the cytoplasm and reducing their DNA binding. |
