Reed, Willis (Jr.)

(1942– ) basketball player; born in Hico, La. After playing at Grambling College (1961–64), the six-foot ten-inch center played for the New York Knicks (1965–74), where he led the Knicks to National Basketball Association titles in 1970 and 1973. He coached the Knicks and the New Jersey Nets, and in 1981 he was elected to basketball's Hall of Fame.
