Reel-Off Stand

Reel-Off Stand

a device for unwinding reels of paper or fabric; it is a part of machines used for finishing and processing materials wound on reels, such as calenders, supercalenders, and rotary presses.

The shaft to which the reel is attached is mounted horizontally on two supports. The reel-off stand is equipped with a braking mechanism, which creates the necessary tension on the material, and a device for adjusting the reels axially and transversely. These stands are used in the paper industry for unreeling reels 2.4 m in diameter and have feed rates up to 1,000 m per min.
