Baizhansai

an urban-type settlement in Chimkent Oblast, Kazakh SSR. It is located in the Karatau Range, 135 km to the north of Chimkent. In 1968 the population was 3,900. The major industry is the extraction and beneficiation of lead-zinc ore.
