Volochisk

an urban-type settlement and center of Volochisk Raion, Khmel’nitskii Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, situated on the Zbruch River (Dnestr basin). Railroad station on the Khmel’nitskii-Ternopol’ line. Population, 11,200 (1969). Volochisk has sugar, cheese, fruit-canning, and metal products plants as well as a brickworks and a garment factory.
