Volovets

an urban-type settlement, the center of Volovets Raion, Transcarpathian Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located in the Carpathians, in an intermontane hollow on the Vicha River. It has a railroad station. Population, 4,300 (1969). Volovets has a lumber-processing combine, a fruit-juice and wine plant, and a tourist center.
