Permutation and Combination
Permutation and Combination
concepts in mathematics. An m-permutation of n things is an ordered selection, or arrangement, on a line of m of them. An m-combination of n things is a selection of m of them without regard to order.
The n-permutations of n distinct things are often referred to as permutations (without qualification). The corresponding n-combinations are simply the whole collection as a single entity, which needs no special name.
