TRPM2 A gene on chromosome 21q22.3 that encodes a nonselective, voltage-independent cation channel, which mediates sodium and calcium ion influx in response to oxidative stress. TRPM2 is activated by ADP-ribose, NAD+, reactive oxygen species and arachidonic acid; it confers susceptibility to cell death in response to oxidative stress, and is inactivated by intracellular ATP.TRPM2
