. He briefly taught high school in Vancouver, then worked in Quebec radio and was chairman of the board (2002–6) of Katimavik, a young people's volunteer group founded by his father. At his father's funeral (2000), his moving eulogy brought him to the attention of the public and the Liberal party. He first won a seat in Parliament in 2008. In 2013, Trudeau was elected leader of the Liberal party. Two years later he led the Liberals to a win in the parliamentary elections and became prime minister.
