Urodan

Urodan

a medicinal drug that facilitates the excretion of uric acid from the body; it is a mixture of several chemical compounds. The primary therapeutic action is caused by piperazine phosphate and lithium benzoate, which interact with the uric acid to form easily soluble compounds; the shift in the acid-base balance is also significant. Urodan is used to treat gout, nephrolithiasis, and other diseases. It is prepared in granular form and is taken internally after being dissolved in water.
