Pronchishcheva Bay

 

a bay of the Laptev Sea, jutting into the eastern coast of the Taimyr Peninsula. The length of the bay is 50 km, the width at the entrance is approximately 3 km, and the maximum depth is 22 m. The banks are low. The bay is icebound most of the year. It was discovered by V. V. Pronchishchev and named in honor of his wife, Mariia Pronchishcheva, by B. A. Vil’kitskii’s expedition in 1913.
