ventriculocordectomy

ventriculocordectomy

An obsolete surgical procedure formerly used to relieve paralysis of the laryngeal abductor nerve, which consisted in endoscopic excision of the vocal cord and part of the anterior laryngeal ventricle. It was supplanted by arytenoidopexy and arytenoidectomy, and now by endoscopic laser reconstruction.
