Location:3 miles east of Panama City Beach, off SR 392 (Thomas Drive).
Facilities:176 full-facility campsites, youth/group primitive camping area,bathhouses, beach, showers, picnic areas and pavilions, playgrounds,food and other concessions, canoe/kayak rental, boat ramp, 2 fishingpiers and jetties, hiking trails, visitor center, restroom.
Activities:Camping, boating, canoeing/kayaking, saltwater fishing, swimming,snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, hiking, bicycling, boat excursions,living history demonstrations, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park is located on a peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico and GrandLagoon. During World War II it was part of a military reservation, andcircular cannon platforms are still in place near the jetties on thebeach. A parcel of the park that remains undeveloped is Shell Island, abarrier island just across the ship's channel from the mainland.Shuttle boats run to the island during the spring and summer.
