(sūr'ăl ahr'tĕr-ē) One of four or five arteries arising (sometimes by a common trunk) from the popliteal; distribution, muscles and integument of the calf; anastomoses, posterior tibial, medial, and lateral inferior genicular.
Synonym(s): arteria suralis [TA] .
