Bezengi

Bezengi

 

(also Bezingi, Ulluchiran), a valley glacier on a northern slope of the Greater Caucasus. It descends from the peaks of Shkhara (5,058 m) and Dzhangitau (5,049 m) to an elevation of 2,000 m. The area of the névé basin is 33.4 sq km, and the area of the tongue is 7.2 sq km. The glacier tongue, which is up to 9 km long, is almost entirely covered with moraine. The Cherek-Khulamskii River (Baksan basin) rises from the Bezengi.
