Sokh
Sokh
a river in the Kirghiz SSR and the Uzbek SSR. The Sokh is 124 km long and drains an area of 3,510 sq km. Originating on the northern slopes of the Alai Range, it ends in the Fergana River valley in a vast alluvial cone dissected by irrigation canals. The river is fed by glaciers and snow, and its high-water stage is from June to September. The mean flow rate 44 km from the mouth, at the kishlak (hamlet) of Sarykonda, is 42.1 cu m per second. The Sokh flows into an irrigation network, which ends before reaching the Syr Darya River.
