It mediates the inflammatory and repair reactions at sites of tissue injury and promotes adhesion, spreading, and migration of cells. It has been shown to be identical to S protein, which was identified as an inhibitor of complement activation, binding the complex" >membrane attack complex and preventing its insertion into the membrane.vit·ro·nec·tin (vit'rō-nek'tin), [MIM*193190] A plasma glycoprotein involved in inflammatory and repair reactions at sites of tissue damage.vit·ro·nec·tin (vit'rō-nek'tin) A plasma glycoprotein involved in inflammatory and repair reactions at sites of tissue damage.
