Shapkina

 

(also Pil’vor”iaga), a river in Arkhangel’sk Oblast and the Komi ASSR. A right tributary of the Pechora River, the Shapkina is 499 km long and drains an area of 6,570 sq km. It flows through the Bol’shezemel’skaia Tundra and is fed chiefly by snow. Highwater occurs between May and June, and the mean flow rate 82 km from the mouth is 582 cu m per sec.
