Vulpes Vulpes Caragan

(Russian karagankd), asubspecies of the common (red) fox. It is found in the steppes andsemideserts of Kazakhstan and is smaller than the Middle Rus-sian foxes. Its winter coat is yellowish gray or sandy yellow. Thepelt is comparatively coarse, short, and less valuable than thatof the northern fox.
