Tashirov, Khaitakhun

 

Born Mar. 2 (15), 1902, in the village of Acha-Mazar, in what is now Kara-Su Raion, Osh Oblast; died Feb. 10, 1963, in the village of Kyzyl-Shark, Kara-Su Raion, Osh Oblast. A leading figure in the kolkhoz movement in Kirghizia. Twice Hero of Socialist Labor (1951, 1957). Member of the CPSU from 1944.

From 1937, Tashirov was chairman of the Kyzyl-Shark Kolkhoz, famous for its abundant cotton harvests. Between 1950 and 1960 the kolkhoz planted more than 1,000 hectares of cotton, and the average yield of raw cotton was 30 to 34 quintals per hectare. Tashirov was a deputy to the fifth convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and a delegate to the Eleventh Congress of the Communist Party of Kirghizia.
