Petr Koshka

Born 1828 in the village of Ometintsy, present-day Nemirov Raion, Vinnitsa Oblast; died Feb. 13 (25), 1882. Russian seaman; hero of the Sevastopol’ defense of 1854-55. He distinguished himself by his bold initiative, bravery, and resourcefulness in battle, especially during reconnaissance and in the capture of prisoners.
