Location:On Derby St. in Salem, Massachusetts, 20 miles northeast of Boston.

Special Features:Recalling the time when Salem traded in the East Indies and throughout the world, the site includes 18th- and 19th-century wharves, the Custom House, the bonded warehouse, the West India Goods Store, the 17th-century Narbonne-Hale House, and the home of 18th-century merchant E. H. Derby. Salem Maritime was the first national historic site established in the National Park System.
