Sale of Goods and Services Act 1982

Sale of Goods and Services Act 1982

a UK Act which provides protection to the purchaser of a SERVICE (which may also involve the provision of a GOOD, for example, the supply of new parts in servicing a car) by laying down certain legal obligations which a supplier must fulfil as part of the CONTRACT OF SALE. These obligations include compliance with description and ‘fitness for purpose’ (see SALE OF GOODS ACT 1979) and that the supplier will use ‘reasonable’ care and skill in providing the service. See CONSUMER PROTECTION.
