Special Features:The park preserves the ruins of Shasta City, the "Queen City" ofCalifornia's northern mining district which was once the center of the1850s gold rush. The Shasta County Courthouse has been restored to its1861 appearance and serves as a museum, with historical exhibits and acollection of historic California artwork featuring more than 100paintings by early California artists.
