The serum of guinea pigs immunized with cholera vibrios destroys cholera organisms in the peritoneal cavity of immune and nonimmune guinea pigs and that the same reaction occurs in vitro. That same lytic reaction occurred with typhoid and Escherichia coli.

Pfeiffer syndrome

A rare autosomal-dominant disorder marked by early closure of the cranial sutures and by bone and soft tissue abnormalities, e.g., of the extremities. Mental retardation may be present.
