The apples keep well and may be stored until the next harvest. The trees are high yielding. The apples are used fresh; the Simirenko Reinette may also be used for sousing. Most varieties have lowered winter-hardiness. In the USSR the most common varieties are the Simirenko Reinette, Landsberg Reinette, Champagne Reinette, and Golden Kursk Reinette.
