Venturi principle Venturi principle [ven-tu´re] an inverse association of gas or fluid pressure, velocity of flow, and restriction of passage. The Venturi principle states that the pressure drop distal to a restriction can be nearly restored to the prerestriction pressure if there is a dilatation of the passage immediately distal to the stenosis, with an angle of divergence not exceeding 15 degrees. |
