Salmona, Rogelio

(1929–2007)One of Columbia’s most significant architects and a former apprentice of Le Corbusier, Salmona was the first Latin American to win the Alvar Aalto Medal (2003) and is credited with making Bogota a model for a successful urban city. His work there includes the Virgilio Barco public library, the Archivo General, the vice president’s compound, and a pedestrian mall in the city’s historic center.
