Alternative medicine(1) A bacterial extract (glycoprotein extracted from the Klebsiella pneumoniae) which allegedly stimulates the immune system, warding against bacterial, viral and fungal infections in patients with AIDS, cancer, bronchitis and common cold. It is also claimed to prevent hair loss. There is no peer-reviewed data to support its efficacy.
(2) An unapproved proprietary medical device which allegedly provides bioelectric therapy as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS).
