anti-Rh agglutinin

An antibody produced by people with Rh-negative blood who are exposed to blood containing the Rh antigen. This antibody develops in Rh-negative people who receive Rh-positive blood and in Rh-negative women carrying an Rh-positive fetus. The antibody may cause hemolytic disease of the newborn in subsequent Rh-positive pregnancies. See also: agglutinin
