Reliability Tests
tests of technical devices that determine the level of reliability of the device itself or determine whether the device will meet the demands for reliability made on it. The first type of test is termed determinative, and the second type, control. Determinative tests of reliability establish numerical values of reliability indexes (for example, the probability of faultless performance, the readiness coefficient, or the average repair time); they also reveal design and production shortcomings that affect the reliability of the product. Control reliability tests check for discrepancies between the values of actual reliability indexes and those given in the specifications. Reliability tests take into account the actual conditions under which the device will operate.
