Vadkovskii, Fedor Fedorovich

 

Born 1800; died Jan. 8, 1844, in the village of Oek, now Irkutsk Oblast. A Decembrist; ensign of the Nezhin Regiment.

In 1823, Vadkovskii joined the Northern Society of Decembrists. In 1824 he became a member of the St. Petersburg board of the Southern Society and accepted its republican program. He was sentenced to lifelong hard labor, but the sentence was reduced to 13 years. Vadkovskii along with I. I. Pushchin originated the idea of creating a prison artel of Decembrists.
