Vaenga

a river in Arkhangel’sk Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Severnaia Dvina. Length, 218 km; area of basin, 3,370 sq km. It flows through a wooded region swampy in places. The average yearly flow of water is 30.4 cu m per sec (at the village of Filimonovskaia). The main tributary of the Vaenga is the Nondrus, which enters it from the left. The Vaenga is much used for floating logs.
