San Angelo State Park
Location:Adjacent to the city of San Angelo, on the shore of the OC Fisher Reservoir, in the central portion of the state.
Facilities:Campsites with water and electricity hookups, primitive campsites, horsemen's camp, group camps, cabins, showers, restrooms, day-use group facility, picnic areas, multi-use trails, boat ramps, docks, fishing piers, park store.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, mountain biking, birding, hunting (with restrictions), guided hikes (by request).
Special Features:Park is located on the shores of O.C. Fisher Reservoir, which was constructed in 1952 for flood control on the North Concho River. The name "Concho" (meaning "shell" in Spanish) comes from the freshwater mussels that inhabit the area's rivers and streams and produce iridescent gems.
