Dates of birth and death unknown. Sergeant in the Russian Army.

In 1763 and 1764, together with F. Tatarinov and E. Ko-novalov, Andreev made an expedition from the mouth of the Kolyma River to the Medvezh’i Islands, charted them, and was the first to describe them. Andreev attempted to penetrate northeast of the Medvezh’i Islands, where he saw the so-called Andreev’s Land, the existence of which was never subsequently verified.
