Shestoper
Shestoper
an ancient Russian weapon used for striking. A type of mace, it is a baton with a head consisting of six metal plates (fins). It was used from the 15th to 17th centuries. The first mention of the weapon in written sources is found in an account from 1502 of a battle between Russians and knights of an order. The shestoper also served as a symbol of authority of military leaders. Shestopery decorated with silver, gold, and precious stones are preserved in the Armory of the Moscow Kremlin.
