Location:20 miles northeast of Charleston, in east central Illinois, near I-57, US 36, and IL 133.
Facilities:Class A campsites with electrical hookups and shower building withflush toilets, Class C walk-in tent sites, group camping area(youth and adult), 8 picnic areas with privies, 5 shelters,2 playgrounds, horseshoe pits, nature preserve, hiking trails (é), floating docks,fishing piers, boat rentals, 2 boat ramps, concession.
Activities:Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, hiking, hunting,cross-country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs.
Special Features:The focal point of the park is a 59-acre lake with 6.3 miles of shoreline and an averagedepth of 12.5 feet. The many-fingered lake is formed by an earthen damlocated on the south side of the recreation area.
