Sancti-Spíritus

a city in Cuba, in Las Villas Province. Population, 57,700 (1970). Industry in the city includes food (fruit-canning, dairy, and meat), tobacco, and leather and footwear; there is also a housing-construction combine. Sancti-Spiritus was founded in 1514.
