pseudobacillus

pseu·do·ba·cil·lus

(sū'dō-bă-sil'ŭs), Any microscopic object, such as a poikilocyte, resembling a bacillus.

pseudobacillus

A nonspecific term of waning use for any structure seen by light microscopy that simulates a bacillus; because a “formal” term often implies the existence of an entity a sui generis, a noncommittal term such as “bacillus-like structure” may be preferable.
