Special Features:San Felipe was the home of Stephen Austin, the "Father of Texas," and other famous early Texans, and it was here that Austin brought the first 297 families to colonize Texas under a contract with the Mexican Government. The 12 acres of the park that were the site of San Felipe have been set aside in honor of the area's past.
