Unecha

a city (since 1940) and administrative center of Unecha Raion, Briansk Oblast, RSFSR. Unecha is situated on the upper course of the Unecha River, in the Dnieper River Basin. Located on the Briansk-Gomel’ highway, it is a junction of railroad lines to Briansk, Orsha, Gomel’, and Khutor-Mikhailovskii and has enterprises servicing the railroad industry. Other enterprises include the Tembr plant, a vegetable-drying plant, a plant for the production of butter and dry milk, a meat- and poultrypacking combine, and a combine for the manufacture of reinforced-concrete products. The Druzhba (Friendship) Pipeline passes through Unecha.
