(soo″dō-nă-jă tĕks′tĭl-ĭs) [″ + ″] [L., lit. “woven”] The Australian eastern brown snake. Venom from this snake contains an anticoagulant that activates prothrombin and causes bleeding. Purified venom from the brown snake is used in laboratory assays for lupus anticoagulants.
