pseudopterygium

A fold of conjunctiva that has become attached to the cornea as a result of injury or ulcer near the limbus. Hard contact lens wear has occasionally given rise to pseudopterygium: refitting with soft contact lenses may then be indicated. In the case of pseudopterygium a probe can be passed beneath it near the limbus, whereas this is impossible in true pterygium.
