Location:Southwestern end of St. Croix, south of the town of Frederiksted, Virgin Islands.
Activities:Hiking, wildlife observation.
Special Features:Sandy Point has the largest beach in the Virgin Islands and hosts the largest known nesting population of leatherback sea turtles under U.S. jurisdiction.
Habitats: 327 acres of beach, mangroves, and littoral woodland vegetation.
Access: Open on weekends.
Wild life: Endangered leatherback sea turtles, least terns. Also brown pelican, black-necked stilt, and black-whiskered vireo.
