A rarely used term, of uncertain validity in the working medical parlance, described by Emil Emil Kraepelin (1856–1926) as a bipolar mixed state characterised by the inhibition of thought overactivity accompanied by elevation of mood.

unproductive mania

Behavior characteristic of mania accompanied by muteness or lack of spontaneity in speech. This disorder is sometimes seen in manic-depressive psychosis. See also: mania
