Songnim

a city in the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea, in Hwanghae-pukto Province, on the Taedong-gang, southwest of Pyongyang. Songnim is one of the country’s most important centers of ferrous metallurgy. The principal industries are food processing and the production of chemicals and building materials. Iron ore is mined nearby.
