Tsagan-Khurtei

(also, Tsagan-Khuntei), a mountain range in the Buriat ASSR and Chita Oblast, RSFSR. Tsagan-Khurtei forms a divide between the Uda and Khilok rivers. The range is 270 km long and has elevations up to 1,581 m, although most of the mountains are of medium elevation. The range is composed of granites, acidic effusives, and sedimentary rock. Larch taiga and pine forests are found on the slopes.
