Established: 1987.
Location:8 miles west of Modesto, California.
Special Features:Refuge played a key role in the recovery and 2001 delisting of the Aleutian Canada Goose by providing critical habitat for the species.
Habitats: 6,642 acres of riparian forests, pastures, agricultural fields, and wetlands.
Access: Closed to the public.
Wild life: Aleutian Canada geese (endangered), sandhill cranes, herons, egrets and neotropical migratory land birds.
