Stereoscopic camera stereoscopic camera[¦ster·ē·ə¦skäp·ik ′kam·rə] (optics) A camera which takes photographs simultaneously with two similar lenses a few inches apart, for use in a stereoscope or other optical system which gives a sensation of depth to the viewer. Also known as stereo camera. Stereoscopic cameraA camera designed to produce two displaced images, called a stereoscopic pair, by means of two matched lenses and shutters, so that when viewed by both human eyes in a stereoscope gives a three-dimensional view of the object. |
